Administrative Assistant – Leisure (Admin & Clerical | Temporary)
Location: Newry Leisure Centre, 60 Cecil Street, Newry, BT35 6AU
Hours: 36 hours per week | Monday–Friday (9am start)
Rate: PAY: £***** per hour
About the Role We are recruiting an Administrative Assistant to provide a comprehensive clerical, secretarial, and reception service within Newry Leisure Centre.
This is a busy, admin-focused role with a strong customer-facing element, supporting bookings, finance, records, and day-to-day office operations.
You will report to the Duty Manager (or nominee) and play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery within the Leisure & Sport team.
Key Responsibilities
Typing and preparation of letters, reports, memos, and presentations
Cash handling, receipting, and financial paperwork in line with Council procedures
Managing computerised booking systems and diaries, including follow-up actions
Administration of the Time Management System (computerised & manual records)
Attending meetings, taking minutes, and completing follow-up actions
General administrative duties including filing, orders, invoicing, and records management
Processing invoices and assisting with accounts receivable
Reception duties including switchboard operation and handling enquiries
Data input, database maintenance, and information management
Assisting with PR, communications, marketing campaigns, and events
What We're Looking For
Strong administrative and clerical experience
Confidence working with booking systems, databases, and financial records
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
High attention to detail and confidentiality
A flexible, team-focused approach to work
