Overview
We are hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer who has experience using a function generator and an oscilloscope on the electrical side or software related to the hookup of hydrophones used in acoustics testing for ultrasonic ablation devices.
Top Priorities & Responsibilities
* Track record leading aspects of design, development, modification, and testing of electrical circuits/systems for advanced therapeutic ablation catheters (RDN, IVL, RF, Ultrasound).
* Hands-on troubleshooting of electronic test failures—drive root cause to the component level (using oscilloscopes, meters, data acquisition, etc).
* Develop, test, and characterize new catheter prototypes and console interfaces in cross-functional teams from concept through launch.
Regulatory & Quality Expertise
* Proven track record with EMC and medical safety standards/certifications related to SUD (IEC60601-1, IEC60601-1-2, etc).
* Read, interpret, and consolidate regulatory requirements for technical implementation and documentation.
* Maintain rigorous documentation throughout R&D—write protocols, reports, change requests, technical memos.
Innovation, Intellectual Property, & User Focus
* Translate high-level user and clinical requirements into robust technical solutions.
* Passion for solving end-user problems—proactive in identifying use pain points and clinical challenges.
* Create and implement novel enhancements to ablation catheters and systems, addressing clinical/user needs and expanding BSC’s IP portfolio
Collaboration, Training, and Communication
* Mentor and direct engineers and technicians; provide technical feedback and training to build a high-performance team culture.
* Lead by example on technical excellence and teamwork—set high expectations for quality, documentation, and delivery.
* Communicate clearly with all stakeholders—share key technical updates and project milestones to the project leads, and senior leadership as required.
Test & Analysis Tools
* Advanced use of electronic and signal analysis tools (oscilloscope, function generator, analog/digital meters, LTSpice, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, etc.).
* Experience with circuit design, simulation, and system integration.
* Data analysis skills for physiologic and therapy signals.
Preferred Experience
* Experience with therapeutic catheter and/or ablation technologies (RF, ultrasound, IVL, PFA).
* Familiarity with firmware/debugging, digital logic, FPGA, and module integration.
* Data analysis (LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python), physiologic signals, and automated test development.
* Experience in writing patents and expanding IP portfolios.
* Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence cross-functionally, and build high-performance teams.
Required Qualifications
* MSc (or higher) in Electrical Engineering.
* 5+ years in the medical device industry or other highly regulated field, with significant experience on implantable or catheter-based systems.
* Hands-on expertise in mixed HW/SW circuit design, system troubleshooting, and electronic root cause analysis.
* Strong documentation, communication, and project management skills.
* Proven work with medical device safety/regulatory (IEC60601 series, EMC).
