About the Role:
EPS Group has an immediate vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to join our Contracts team from our Mallow head office.
As part of our growing team, you will be responsible for electrical engineering activities on Municipal and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants, Water Treatment Plants, pumping stations, and Data Centre Water Treatment Projects across Europe.
No two days will be the same; your activities will vary and will be agreed with the Contracts Manager on an ongoing basis. You will support the design team through the process up to onsite installation and commissioning.
This role offers varied and challenging responsibilities, providing invaluable exposure to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
* Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams to support troubleshooting and system integration.
* Complete electrical design reviews to identify gaps, deviations, or contradictions in specifications.
* Validate cable sizing and make appropriate recommendations.
* Compile and issue technical submittals.
* Ensure compliance with electrical codes (NSAI Irish Standard I.S. 10101:2020 IEC, WIMES), safety regulations, and environmental standards.
* Manage electrical aspects of projects and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
* Review electrical installations with the BIM team to ensure constructibility and adequate space for installation and maintenance.
* Liaise with the design team and supply chain to ensure systems meet specifications and drawings.
* Manage specialist vendors during commissioning to ensure timely completion of their works.
* Develop Site Instruction Packs, Handover Packs, and Test Packs as required.
* Participate in quality meetings and QA/QC walk-downs when necessary.
* Review and respond to technical queries from site regarding specifications, drawings, materials, and equipment.
* Issue requisitions and ensure materials meet specifications and submittals.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including automation, mechanical, civil, and process engineers.
Key Competencies and Skills:
* Technical knowledge of 3-phase industrial installations, including motors, starters, control panels, PLCs, and instrumentation.
* Proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
* Experience with AutoCAD and Trimble for electrical design and layout.
* Strong knowledge of Safe Electric certification.
* Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
* Leadership and responsibility for project completion.
Qualifications:
* Third-level Electrical Engineering qualification.
* Equivalent relevant qualifications and experience will be considered.
* Full EU/Irish driving license.
