YOUR ROLE
Our Shannon operation has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking Branch Manager where you will take overall responsibility of the site where you will ensure that the team are fully engaged in meeting the needs of the business and our customers.
This role will see you driving a high performance and continuous improvement culture across a diverse management team, therefore the ability to engage, strengthen and drive development opportunities not only for colleagues but for the branch is critical within this role.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Head of Air & Ocean for Ireland, you will oversee day to day operational activity across the branch including, freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution. Working with your management structure you will formulate strategies to improve productivity, identify growth and new business opportunities within the branch, ensuring operational excellence, profitability, processes improvement, and cost-saving initiatives are considered. You will maintain exceptional relationships with clients and suppliers, negotiating rates and contracts, and ensuring issues and queries are addressed quickly and remedial actions are implemented. You will also take full responsibility for financial management related to the branch setting budgets and managing the P&L across all products.
You will embed a culture of high performance, engagement and continuous improvement across your management structure, formulating performance targets, development and succession objectives. In addition, you will also support the Head of Air & Ocean for Ireland with optimisation and change management projects focusing on long-term objectives and driving site success.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application you will have proven air freight management experience, ideally within a 3PL or Global environment. You will possess exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to develop and shape management teams, build strong customer relationships and implement sustainable improvements to drive business performance.
You will have proven budget management and P&L experience, with strong commercial acumen, influencing, analytical and problem-solving skills. It goes without saying that you will be able to communicate at all levels, practiced in preparing and presenting business updates and creating statical reports for senior management and customers.
This pivotal role shapes our Shannon operation and ensures the smooth running of the branch therefore we do require someone who has proven experience of managing a branch operation or air freight site-based teams.
