12-Month Contract | Dublin (Hybrid: 2-3 Days On-Site) | Competitive Day Rate
HRM is partnering with a major national infrastructure organization to recruit a Senior IT Systems Administrator specialising in Cyber Security Infrastructure. This is a high-impact, 6-month interim role acting as the primary bridge between the Cyber Security Project Team and IT Operations.
You will lead the design and implementation of security-driven infrastructure projects within a critical 24x7 operational environment.
This position is responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of complex, high-quality infrastructure solutions with an unwavering focus on security hardening. You will shape architectures that meet stringent regulatory expectations while ensuring 24x7 availability for vital public services.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Act as the Technical Lead for infrastructure-related security initiatives, ensuring scalability and resilience.
Infrastructure Design: Design and build complex Microsoft-based environments using industry best practices for security hardening.
Vulnerability Management: Drive security patch management and proactive vulnerability remediation across the estate.
Audit & Compliance: Produce high-quality technical documentation to support both internal and external security audits.
Disaster Recovery: Implement high-availability and disaster-recovery strategies for critical applications, including failover testing.
Escalation Support: Resolve complex technical issues escalated from Level 1 and 2 support, providing mentorship to junior staff.
Performance Monitoring: Ensure critical components are monitored for security performance to meet strict SLAs.
Experience
Core Microsoft Expertise (Essential)
5+ years of Senior-level experience managing Microsoft technologies within a large enterprise environment.
Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
Deep proficiency in Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 (Implementation & Administration).
Security & Networking
Strong understanding of network protocols and concepts.
Experience in Security Hardening of infrastructure components.
Proven experience working under strict process control methodologies (e.g., ITIL).
Certifications
Required: MCSA, MCP, or CCNA.
Highly Desirable: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Information Security Administrator Associate (focused on M365 and Azure).
Virtualization platforms (VMware) and storage technologies.
Backup solutions (Veritas NetBackup is a significant plus).
Automation proficiency (Python, Ansible, or REST APIs).
Location: Dublin (Hybrid model, requiring 2-3 days on-site per week).
Duration: 12-Month Contract.
Remuneration: Professional Day Rate (Negotiable based on experience).
Environment: A critical, 24x7 operational infrastructure setting.
