Purpose of Position
Join our dynamic team as an Electrician, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring quality, safety, and innovation across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
What You'll Do
* Carry out skilled preventative maintenance, testing, and repairs in a variety of settings.
* Design and install minor electrical installations, including fit-out of water and wastewater treatment plants.
* Responsible for delivery, installation, and commissioning of small to large-sized electrical systems, pumps, VSDs, and controls.
* Install and commission different types of instrumentation and equipment.
* Read and interpret technical documents, manuals, working drawings, and schematics.
* Calculate material quantities and prepare lists.
* Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
* Mentor apprentices and support the development of junior staff.
* Supervise suppliers, sub-contractors, and site-based staff; coordinate with project teams and service departments.
* Support project delivery teams in preparing commissioning test documentation.
* Conduct initial power-up of MCCs, rotation checks on motors, and I/O point-to-point checks (dry testing).
* Set up and calibrate instrumentation in the field, scale instrument 4-20 mA signals back to PLC.
* Carry out QA on MEICA works, identify deficiencies, and assist in rectification.
* Complete commissioning documentation, including pre-test inspections, commissioning sheets, and SAT documentation.
* Complete preliminary installation checks and provide snag lists to contractors.
* Work with process engineers to optimise water and wastewater infrastructure performance.
* Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), providing sign-off as required.
* Maintain records of all work undertaken and report findings to supervisors.
* Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures are always adhered to on-site.
* Must complete relevant safety documentation.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What We're Looking For
* Trade qualified in Electrical or (equivalent) certified electrician with post apprenticeship work experience.
* Mechanical experience is a distinct advantage.
* Experience in water/wastewater industry is an advantage.
* Experienced in commissioning and process proving of MEICA systems.
* Ability to read electrical and PNID drawings.
* Strong communication skills; able to liaise directly with customers and project teams.
* Ability to work in confined spaces and at height.
* Full clean Irish/EU driving licence.
* Safe Pass and Manual Handling Certificate.
