Reporting to the E&I Production Manager / Supervisors, these positions involve electrical wiring and mechanical aspects of LV/HV Switchgear and control panels.
Role Summary
* Assembly of Electrical Switchgear and associated Electromechanical equipment/systems to engineering drawings and production timescales.
* Maintain quality standards through good workmanship both in the factory and at customer premises.
* Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
Responsibilities & Expectations
* Work from drawings, manuals, schematics, etc.
* Proven experience assembling mechanical and electrical equipment and electromechanical systems.
* Contribute to fitting, building, or constructing various parts for smooth component integration.
* Possess good electro/mechanical skills.
* Assemble parts or components to build new or repeatable products.
* Work independently with minimal supervision.
* Use engineering tools and electrical hand tools proficiently, including torquing.
* Demonstrate maturity and engineering practicality.
* Follow company policies and procedures.
* Mentor and develop team members.
* Ensure quality standards are met and maintained, report any defective parts.
* Select, measure, and modify components for proper fit.
* Carry out MTOs and order materials for tasks and site work.
* Assemble prototype and development units with supervisors and managers.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
* Meet deadlines, adhere to Quality and H&S principles.
* Maintain a positive attitude, work flexibly, including overtime as required, and integrate well within the team.
* Complete testing of panels, including current injection.
* Perform mechanical/electrical maintenance and site modifications.
* Conduct Thermal Imaging inspections and report writing.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualification Criteria
Essential qualifications and experience include:
* C&G Electrical Qualification & an Engineering Apprenticeship with AM2 or equivalent.
* Mechanical knowledge is advantageous.
* Experience in Electrical switchgear manufacture or similar.
* Experience in field service work/on-site installations.
* Familiarity with Risk Assessments and Method statements.
* Current 18th Edition certification.
Must be a time-served Electrician/Technician with experience in panel wiring of PLCs, Motor Control Centres, control panels, or experience in industrial installations such as Water Treatment Plants or Petrochemical facilities, including MCCs and instrumentation.
