Mechanical Engineer - Cavan
Our client, a leading manufacturer in the region, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Cavan.
The Mechanical Engineer is part of the Project Engineering team with responsibility for the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of products and equipment supporting the continued and sustained development and improvement of the site manufacturing suite.
Key Accountabilities
Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Research and evaluate customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
Design and specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
Research, design, evaluate, procure, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
Conduct research and testing to evaluate the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.
Recommend design modifications after identifying the real root cause to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
Perform personnel functions, such as supervision of technicians during project work and design of evaluation programs.
Ensure budgets, timescales, and specifications of projects are agreed with the project engineering manager.
Ideal Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
Proficient in CAD and MS Office.
Proven track record in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and as part of a team.
Analytical and good problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence and lead teams.
