Overview:John Sisk & Son have been building excellence as a family-owned international construction company by offering trust, certainty and value to our clients whilst being at the heart of change.Junior Health & Safey Advisor HSEQ provides support to project teams in the implementation of health, safety, environment, quality and wellbeing standards. Works under supervision of the Advisor HSEQ, Senior Advisor HSEQ or Manager HSEQ. Gains practical experience in construction HSEQ systems and contributes to the development of personal competency while supporting compliance and continuous improvement across projects.Responsibilities:Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the implementation of HSEQ systems and procedures on allocated projects.Support site inspections, audits and reviews to monitor compliance and identify improvement opportunities.Contribute to the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, environmental plans and wellbeing initiatives.Observe and report on incidents and near misses, supporting investigations and follow-up actions.Assist in delivering HSEQ briefings, toolbox talks and training under supervision.Support data collection, reporting and monitoring of HSEQ performance.Participate in project and functional HSEQ meetings.Maintain awareness of company HSEQ policies, statutory requirements and standards.Experience:Experience and SkillsInterest or initial experience in construction HSEQ or related disciplineWillingness to learn and develop practical HSEQ skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work as part of a team and follow guidance from senior HSEQ staffOrganised and able to manage workload in a structured mannerEnthusiasm for promoting a safe, sustainable and high-quality working environmentQualifications:Qualifications and TrainingRequiredDegree or qualification in Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Management or related discipline (or current enrolment)Awareness of construction HSEQ standards and statutory requirementsFull relevant driver's licenceDesirableNEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualificationIOSH membership or working towards membershipBasic knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 or other management systemsAdditional Information:Competitive salary26 days annual leave plus additional company daysPension and benefitsUnlimited learning and development opportunitiesMuch moreOur People and Recruitment CommitmentAt Sisk Group our people are at the heart of our success.
