Senior Contract Manager role at Workday, part of the GLS team supporting the Company’s Go To Market Legal team. Handles a wide variety of transactional and in‑depth contract work across Workday’s customer base and net new accounts.

About the Role
High‑performing Senior Contract Manager to manage contract negotiation and drafting, maintain workflow and support the legal department.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a primary legal contract reviewer for Workday's legal team negotiating commercial contracts.
Manage workflow, document generation and review processes for a variety of contract types, beginning with receipt of requests for contract generation through routing for signatures and final distribution.
Review proposed modifications to contracts and work with internal business partners and third parties to negotiate terms and obtain approvals for modifications as required.
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams during contract review cycles, acting as a key contact for the legal department by providing guidance on commonly requested edits, non‑standard terms, policies, copies, questions, etc.
Assist with maintenance of contracts management system as well as implementation and enforcement of contract practices and policies.
Draft and revise contract wording to address various situations as they arise.
Maintain processes between the legal department and other groups and collaborate on ways to continually improve the contracts administration process.
Provide support to in‑house legal staff, including research, correspondence and record‑keeping. Execute assigned projects as determined by needs of the business and department.
Basic Qualifications
Law degree (or equivalent qualification). Master’s or PhD in Law with at least 5–7 years of relevant experience managing contracts (including drafting and negotiation) in a corporate environment.
Demonstrated experience with complex commercial contract terms and a solid understanding of contract law principles.
Proficiency in German language is essential.
Other Qualifications
Licensed to practice law in relevant European jurisdiction (e.g. Ireland, the United Kingdom, Italy) is highly desirable.
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with a contract management system, e.g. Apttus or others.
Experience with e‑signature software, e.g. EchoSign, DocuSign.
Strong collaborative spirit, including outstanding influence and interpersonal skills.
Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑output, team‑oriented environment.
Demonstrates enthusiasm for solving problems and adding value to the Company.
