Cloud Engineer / Cloud Solutions Architect, Contract, DublinThis role:We are seeking a senior-level Cloud Engineer / Cloud Solutions Architect to design, implement, and operate secure, scalable cloud platforms and applications aligned with the Bank's enterprise cloud strategy.This is a hands-on engineering role for an experienced practitioner who has built and supported production cloud platforms at scale in regulated or complex enterprise environments.The role is based inDublin, with a requirement to workonsite 3 days per week.You will work closely with product teams, architects, security, QA, and project management to deliver high quality, resilient solutions that meet strict enterprise standards for performance, accessibility, security, and compliance.Have you:7+ years of professional experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a dedicated cloud engineering role.Hands-on production experience with one or more public cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP (Azure strongly preferred).Proven experience architecting, building, and operating enterprise-grade cloud solutions.Strong, hands-on experience using Terraform in production for Infrastructure as Code.Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Maven.Solid experience with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes (OpenShift highly desirable).Strong experience with Linux/UNIX system administration in production environments.Demonstrable experience implementing cloud security controls, policies, and governance.Experience with identity and access management frameworks and tools.Professional experience developing software in Java and/or Python (Go desirable).Experience working in agile delivery teams using modern DevOps and test-driven development practices.Key Responsibilities:Lead hands-on engineering of cloud platforms and application infrastructure.Design and deliver cloud solutions aligned with the Bank's cloud and security strategies.Design, implement, and maintain software solutions as part of the cloud enablement strategyBuild and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).Ensure all code adheres to strict enterprise standards for:Security and complianceAccessibilityObject-oriented design principlesPerformance, resilience, and reliabilityDesign and implement CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.Write and execute unit and integration tests.Participate actively in requirements definition, architecture reviews, and design meetings.Collaborate closely with developers, QA, security, and project management.Improve and enforce cloud security posture using native cloud security services and policies.Contribute to cloud standards, patterns, and reusable modulePreferred:Hands-on experience with Terraform Enterprise, Private Module Registry, and Sentinel.Deep knowledge of the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) or similar enterprise frameworks.Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated environments.Experience designing multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.Deep understanding of:Web protocol, Operating systems, Hypervisors, Distributed systems architectureHands-on experience with cloud security tooling such as: Azure Policy, Azure Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel (or equivalent services in AWS/GCP)Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, CloudFormation, or Salt.Cloud provider certifications such as:AWS Certified Solutions Architect / Developer, Microsoft Azure certifications, Google Cloud certificationsStrong DevOps / DevSecOps mindset and experience operating production platforms at scale.**If you would like to discuss this vacancy further or to discuss your career options in confidence, send your profile to -Berkley Business & Technology is a specialist consultancy, recruiting professionals for organizations throughout Ireland, UK & Europe; for more information go to www.berkley-**
