Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Prisma. Prisma is redefining how developers work with databases, offering open-source tools backed by commercial solutions. Our team is small and distributed, focused on delivering scalable data infrastructure and developer-friendly tooling.
What would you do at Prisma? You’ll be part of our Prisma Data Platform team which is responsible for Accelerate, Prisma Postgres, and the bare metal cloud that those products are built on.
Responsibilities
* Choose and deploy a globally distributed configuration store (like etcd, rqlite) for encrypted authentication to enable global routing for Prisma Postgres.
* Improve automation of our servers with the goal of reducing maintenance overhead and provisioning times.
* Configure, deploy, monitor, and debug a cutting-edge containerization platform that drives both internal and external tooling and services.
* Participate in a shared on-call rotation to help ensure reliability of our systems, with an emphasis on fair scheduling, strong tooling, and a culture that values work-life balance.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
* 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering, operating large-scale systems with a focus on Linux, networking, and cloud environments.
* Experience building and scaling resilient distributed systems across bare metal and cloud platforms (AWS, Cloudflare); strong understanding of systems architecture and reliability patterns.
* Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or similar) and automation practices to manage reproducible, scalable environments.
* High standards for quality, taking ownership, and driving meaningful impact.
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and foster collaboration across teams.
* Deep expertise in Linux server administration and networking, including provisioning, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and hardening aligned to security best practices. Fluency in Bash and Debian; kernel-level debugging is advantageous.
* Experience strengthening and scaling security across cloud environments, IAM and secrets management, secure networking, zero-trust access controls, CI/CD hygiene, and audit readiness.
* Clear thinking, systematic reasoning, planning, and stakeholder alignment.
* Advantageous: hands-on programming experience in Go, Python, or other scripting languages, with a penchant for building tools that improve developer and operator experience.

Hiring process
* Introductory call with Head of Engineering.
* Take-home assignment followed by a technical interview.
* System design interview with a peer engineer.
* Interview with COO, then with CEO, and finally an offer.
