Assistant Professor of Health Economics
Title: Assistant Professor of Health Economics
Post type: Specific Purpose Contract
Location: Tallaght University Hospital, College of Health Sciences, Trinity College Dublin
Primary purpose: Contribute to health economics teaching, research and administrative activities of the Centre for Health Policy and Management, the School of Medicine and Tallaght University Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses (e.g., MSc in Health Policy and Management, Discipline of Public Health and Primary Care) using traditional, e-learning or blended approaches.
* Supervise post‑graduate and doctoral students.
* Lead and collaborate on health economics research projects with Tallaght Hospital, Integrated Health Areas and the Centre for Health Policy and Management.
* Provide health economics evaluation and support to the hospital and associated health areas.
* Contribute to strategic developments within the Schools of Medicine and the broader health system and policy sphere.
* Perform administrative duties related to teaching and research.
Qualifications and Experience
* PhD in health economics or equivalent.
* Experience in health systems research and health economics research.
* Teaching experience at postgraduate level using diverse delivery methods.
* Experience supervising postgraduate students.
* Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
* Record of developing research proposals and securing research funding.
* Knowledge of Irish health system.
* Excellent administration and communication skills.
Salary and Working Hours
Lecturer Full Salary Scale (€42,925 – €102,556 per annum).
Hours of work are those prescribed under Public Service Agreements (see http://www.tcd.ie/hr/assets/pdf/academic-hours-public-service-agreement.pdf).
