Social Care Worker
Camphill Communities of Ireland are seeking to hire a Social Care Worker. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge.
Purpose of Post
The position requires a high degree of understanding and commitment to the residents and to CCoI. The prime consideration at all times must be the welfare and wellbeing of the residents. Confidentiality with regard to residents and staff is most important.
The Social Care Worker must have the ability to work with people with an intellectual disability and must believe that the person has the right to live and participate in the community equally with others. The Social Care Worker, in co-operation with the Shift Lead and the Person In Charge, will be responsible for the overall growth and direction of the residents, working within the ethos of CCoI.
The person appointed must be highly responsible and reliable, competent in household management, and able to create and maintain a homely and supportive environment. The position requires maturity to resolve conflict and to understand and empower people with divergent points of view.
The person appointed should be flexible and able to lead and work as part of a team. They will ensure that daily operations reflect the ethos and vision of CCoI and that staff meet the needs of the individuals supported. They will set a personal example through attitude, conduct, practice, and leadership.
Responsibilities include:
* Advocacy & Rights: Respect, uphold, and develop the rights and autonomy of service users; facilitate decision-making and self-advocacy; support community participation.
* Person Centred Support: Implement person-centred plans, support individual activities, coordinate medical appointments, promote healthy diets, and support community integration.
* Behavior and Personal Support: Carry out behavior support plans, promote autonomy, assist with personal hygiene, and facilitate recreational activities.
* Household Management: Maintain household standards, manage household chores, and ensure safety and comfort.
* Leadership & Management: Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, maintain accurate records, and oversee staff and volunteer coordination.
* Financial Management: Manage petty cash, household accounts, and assist with budgets.
* Qualifications & Experience: Minimum Level 7 QQI qualification in Social Care or equivalent, CORU registration, and experience with vulnerable adults.

Role details:
Salary: €36,379 - €52,445 per annum
Full-time, 40 hours/week
