Cyber Security Executive | Public Sector
At Staffline Recruitment we seeking to recruit an experienced Cyber Security Executive on behalf of our public sector client.
Working as part of the organisation's Information & Technology Unit, the successful candidate will be a key member of the IT Team. The successful candidate will collaborate across functions to develop and implement robust security strategies. Area of responsibility will include threat identification, compliance assurance, and maintaining a secure digital environment.
Key day to day duties will include the following:
1. Work directly with the IT Security Manager on security issues and second-level system tasks.
2. Swiftly respond to security incidents, coordinate with stakeholders, and efficiently resolve issues to safeguard organizational systems and data.
3. Identify possible infrastructure vulnerabilities and analyze and resolve them.
4. Manage and track vulnerabilities ensuring resolution, accurate records and timely reporting.
5. Managing devices and apps using Intune and GPOs.
6. Run internal audit programs to ensure security controls align with company policies.
7. Conduct risk assessments for new projects, technologies, vendors, and services.
8. Consolidate security threat research and actively monitor the environment for potential risks.
9. Identify, test, and recommend processes, controls, and technologies.
10. Manage security alerts.
11. Analyze log data from multiple sources.
12. Assist the security manager in collecting and analyzing threat intelligence data.
13. Perform log and malware analysis.
14. Conduct system and security reviews.
Interested applicants will meet the following requirements:
15. A relevant Level 8 IT related degree recognized on the National Qualification Framework is essential.
16. 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Technologies, including Azure or Microsoft 365.
17. Knowledge of network and networking protocols.
18. In-depth understanding of security controls and capabilities for Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, and Microsoft Defender.
19. Familiarity with Information Security Frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS is desirable.
20. Knowledge of KQL and PowerShell.
21. Experience in AD, DHCP, and GPO.
22. Good understanding of SIEM.
23. Azure, Microsoft, or CompTIA Security Certification (, AZ-500, SC-100, Network+, Security+) is desirable.
24. Full Driving License is desirable.
25. Experience in responding to security incidents and breaches is desirable.
26. Knowledge of vulnerability scanners.
27. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
This permanent role will have a salary scale of €51,511 - €73,985 along with a hybrid working model and benefits.
