Job Description
We are recruiting a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Cork. This position reports to the Operations Engineering Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor manages day-to-day Maintenance Department activities on site to ensure that all products are manufactured to GMP guidelines. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement and maintenance excellence through our MEP (Maintenance Excellence Programme). They will also ensure that the Equipment P.M. & Calibration schedule, stores stocks, and spare parts list are maintained and up to date.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Staff organization within the department, including holiday cover and TMS review.
* Monitoring timekeeping and holiday requests.
* Ensuring maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to accomplish the maintenance program safely, timely, and cost-effectively.
* Maintaining training, safety awareness records, and attendance, ensuring technicians are trained on updated operating procedures.
* Responsible for all facility and utility maintenance and upkeep.
* Organizing, controlling, and reporting on Preventative Maintenance / Calibration.
* Managing work requests, control, and reporting.
* Assisting in preparing departmental budgets.
* Establishing and maintaining a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history.
* Maintaining calibration systems and compliance, including discrepancies, KPIs, and SOPs related to calibrations.
* Leading department audits.
* Supervising and coordinating Reliability Engineering activities, including reporting and data analysis to improve equipment availability and reduce downtime.
* Anticipating and solving problems promptly, identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Initiating projects to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
* Tracking and analyzing key maintenance parameters.
* Participating actively in the Change Control committee for equipment modifications.
* Conducting employee performance reviews based on job descriptions.
* Ensuring statutory inspections are completed.
* Enforcing safety programs and reviewing safety records to ensure maximum safety for maintenance staff.
Qualifications
* Craft qualification in electrical or mechanical trades.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry or similar environment.
* Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
