About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Care and Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality care to residents in a supportive and inclusive environment.
* Support nurses in providing person-centred care, meeting residents' needs, and promoting their well-being.
* Develop relationships with residents, understanding their interests and preferences, and providing attention, support, and companionship.
* Promote mobility and assist residents in maintaining optimal physical comfort and independence.
* Assist with personal appearance and hygiene needs while maintaining dignity and respect for all individuals.
* Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding residents' conditions or daily life, ensuring seamless care delivery.
* Enable and assist residents to eat, drink, and achieve physical comfort, adhering to individual needs and requirements.
* Participate in organizing social activities, fostering good relationships between residents' families and staff, and contributing to a positive community atmosphere.
* Maintain cleanliness and health/safety standards, adhering to regulations and best practices.
* Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Nurse in Charge and management, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Requirements
* QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare or equivalent (in progress or completed).
* Experience working in a healthcare environment, preferably with knowledge of HIQA standards.
* Excellent communication and listening skills, enabling effective collaboration and resident engagement.
* Reliability and professionalism, demonstrating a commitment to quality care and resident satisfaction.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team, adapting to changing situations and priorities.
* A positive outlook, contributing to a supportive and inclusive work environment.
* Fluent English language skills, both written and oral, facilitating clear communication with residents, staff, and external partners.
