Job Title: Building Management System (BMS) Automation Engineer
Location: Blanchardstown, Dublin, Ireland
Contract: 12 months
We are seeking an experienced
BMS Automation Engineer
to join a dynamic biopharmaceutical production facility focused on innovation and specialty care.
This office-hours position offers the opportunity to work onsite, providing expert support across multiple functions within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the upgrade, operation, maintenance, and optimization of Qualified (GxP) and Non-Qualified (non-GxP) Building Management Systems.
Oversee the design, configuration, and commissioning of BMS infrastructure, ensuring reliability, compliance, and seamless functionality.
Serve as a technical lead for
Siemens Desigo-based systems,
optimising performance and troubleshooting complex issues.
Act as a subject matter expert (SME), providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and facilities management, to align BMS operations with business needs.
Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of upgrades and services.
Identify opportunities to enhance system performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability, while staying up to date with emerging BMS trends and technologies.
Skills and Qualifications:
Third-level qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
5+ years' experience with BMS automated control systems, ideally within the Life Sciences / Pharma sector.
Experience leading BMS projects and managing vendors.
Proficiency with Siemens Desigo CC and/or ABB Cylon BMS systems.
Strong understanding of commissioning, HVAC controls, environmental monitoring, energy management, and system integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC).
Knowledge of GAMP software development lifecycle, ANSI/ISA-S88 and S95 standards, and 21 CFR Part 11.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
