Working at Integer means you are part of a team passionately pursuing excellence in all that we do and always reaching for the next great achievement.What you’ll do in this role:The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership for a team of engineering managers in the support of multiple, complex product lines or processes at a manufacturing site and to set the standards of practice for all engineering functions. You will ensure all engineering activities and related technical support functions across the site are managed in support of ongoing production activities and in adoption of new operational or technological innovations. You will develop the strategies and tactics required for the engineering and/or technical organizations to align to the site’s and business’ long-range plans. Under your leadership, your team will be accountable for providing the technical leadership required to sustain and optimize ongoing production in support of both immediate and long term goals, ensure site quality, deliver continuous improvement projects with attendant impact on the site’s financial performance, serve as the recognized process technical experts within the site, and/or accept accountability for ensuring the successful transfer of new products and new technologies into the site.Be a Strategic Leader· Assume responsibility for all engineering and technical activities across a complex, multi-product line manufacturing site and accept accountability for delivering the Key Performance Goals/Targets established· Serve as an integral member of the Site’s Leadership Team and contribute to the development of the Site’s Strategies and annual goals and objectives from which your Key Performance Goals/Targets are derived· Lead your direct reports which include any combination of engineering managers and senior level engineering professionals· Understand and adhere to Integer’s Values and all company policies, procedures, and work instructions defined in your training plan· Ensure compliance to the established Quality Management System· Ensure compliance to all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security protocols· Support the development of the site Hoshin Plan and lead the cross-functional execution of the manufacturing-related imperatives· Develop and accept accountability to deliver sustained Continuous Improvement processes· Define the goals and objectives for your direct reports with supporting Key Performance Indicators (metrics in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity)· Champion talent develop within the engineering organization by leveraging individual growth and development plans and organizational succession plans· Manage by walking around -- going to the Gemba to observe and ask questions and being an active listener· Model an open and inclusive communication style at the daily production boards, in the weekly engineering and operations’ project update meetings, and in the monthly KPI Board reviews and Town Hall meetings· Engage with Associates at all levels and across all functions, finding time every week to join them for lunch, during breaks, and inviting them to your team meetings· Ensure one/one time with your direct reports, regularly, to monitor performance and check in on progress to both their Individual Development Plans and those of their direct reports· Interact directly with your customers and thought leaders, internal and external; participate actively in customer business reviews and during site visits and audits· Partner with your peers on the Site Leadership Team, aligning on strategies, tactics, and actions needed to achieve the Site’s objectives· Collaborate with the R&D and Product Development teams to ensure the ongoing support for the Product Development Processes and Technology Development Processes to ensure the success of new product and/or new technology launches· Champion Quality within the Engineering team – “I own Quality.” Be a the pre-eminent standard bearer for Quality in everything we do at Integer, by assuring adherence to our QMS, facilitating corrective and preventive actions, and contributing to the successful attainment of our quality KPI’s and journey to 5 Sigma· Perform other duties, as needed and as directedChampion Manufacturing Excellence and drive Market Focus Innovation Strategies:· Be the unrelenting site champion for deployment of the systems and tools to optimize all production activities across the site· Embrace the Manufacturing Excellence culture based on the Integer Production System and its five focus areas: Strategy Alignment, Leadership of Sustained Change, Standardization, Associate Engagement, and Systems & Process Optimization· Participate in the development of production plans with representatives from other departments, such as Operations, Planning, Continuous Improvement, Customer Service, Quality, and Materials to ensure that production performance standards meet customer requirements· Monitor the status of actual daily and longer-term performance against the production plan; ensure your team is prioritizing and supporting the efforts required to drive actions to address off standard performance.· Actively participate in the development of Technology Roadmaps for a business or for a product line and assess what initiatives may be required at the site level to support implementation as well as likely impact on product growth strategies; develop strategic and tactical plans to provide supporting resources.How you will be measured:The specific measures listed below may be subject to change and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list· Safety — Achievement of Integer’s SAFE-T targets for engaged safety awareness and active involvement in supporting the implementation and sustaining of environmental, health, safety, and security initiatives.· Delivery — Achievement of scheduled tasks and milestones for assigned projects· Productivity — Achievement of committed results, completion of assigned projects· Quality – Achievement of site Quality KPI’s· Cost Improvement — Cumulative incremental savings realized as a result of your accomplishments and collaboration, particularly in support of continuous improvements· Cost Controls — Adherence to budgets· Engagement – Promote Associate engagement and support each Associate’s Individual Development Plan; coach direct reports in support of their career plans and professional development and represent their interests in Talent and Succession Planning processesWhat sets you apart:· Evidence that you learn, retain, and apply knowledge. As a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in an engineering or related technical discipline is required. As well, you will have accumulated a history of at least 15 years of engineering and/or technical support roles including at least 10 years in technical management positions.· Accomplished track record in production environments where you owned the responsibilities for delivering results — particularly those KPIs noted above· First hand experiences managing teams responsible for implementing and/or sustaining Manufacturing Excellence and Lean practices· Demonstrated experiences with strategic and direct management of engineering or technical teams in a fast paced and in complex manufacturing environments where products were made to stock and made to order· While not required for this position, your willingness to consider relocation opportunities and rotational assignments will provide additional opportunities for future career growth and progression within Integer· A mastery of problem-solving skills and evidence that you are a critical thinker and thoughtful decision maker is needed and we value your certification as at least a Green Belt or equivalent. We expect that you will have completed formal training in problem solving analysis, root cause analysis, and project management as well as core leadership skills.· You remain actively engaged in your chosen or related discipline by staying up to date on new technologies, recent developments, and evolving learnings as they relate to your business or product line(s).· Demonstrated financial acumen with the capability to navigate a typical Profit and Loss Statement, being able to explain how the delivered results from this role directly link to the achievement of the site’s and businesses’ financial performance targets.· A tool kit of leadership skills, including awareness of what the concept of Emotional Intelligence is and how you engrain the beliefs that support your strengths as a people-developer· A calm demeanor that transcends the high energy, constantly changing production environment· A well-developed skill set for planning, executing, and delivering projects and assignments on time and on budget· A positive, can-do attitude with an underlying belief that failure is not an optionU.S. Applicants: Equal Opportunity Employer.
