Role Overview
As a Commis Chef, you will support the kitchen team in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes to the highest standard. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone passionate about food and eager to learn all aspects of professional cookery. You'll work under the guidance of senior chefs while developing your own culinary skills in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items across all sections of the kitchen.
* Ensure food is consistently prepared to a high standard of quality and presentation.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, complying with HACCP and food safety regulations.
* Receive and correctly store deliveries, rotating stock to minimize waste.
* Follow instructions from senior chefs while learning new techniques and recipes.
* Assist in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, service, and cleaning.
* Uphold the values and reputation of the establishment through teamwork and professionalism.

* Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous kitchen or catering experience desirable but not essential.
* Formal culinary training or enrollment in a chef apprenticeship/course an advantage.
* Food Safety certification (Level 1 or 2) preferred.
