Project Manager - Engineering Excellence
The Project Manager - Engineering Excellence will lead a Mechanical Design team and oversee the delivery of complex, high-value engineering projects. The role is based full-time on site and is central to driving project execution, enhancing design productivity, and ensuring engineering outputs meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
* Customer Focus: Translate customer requirements into clear operational and engineering plans; build long-term client trust through reliability, responsiveness, and tailored solutions; ensure customer experience is a priority in every operational decision.
* Project Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple engineering projects, ensuring scope, budget, quality, and timelines are consistently met; collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to align technical deliverables with project milestones; manage evolving customer requirements without compromising quality or timelines; align engineering, delivery, and support functions under unified project goals.
* Engineering Innovation: Allocate resources effectively to meet fluctuating project demands; establish and maintain engineering workflows, documentation standards, and design quality processes; identify opportunities to shorten design cycles, improve cost-efficiency, and enhance product quality; support strategic initiatives including modular platform development, design-to-cost programs, and digitalisation.
* Leadership & Communication: Lead, mentor, and develop the Mechanical Design team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and technical innovation; engage internal and external stakeholders through clear and empathetic communication.
* Systems & Tools: Utilise technology for visibility, forecasting, and performance reporting; leverage KPIs to measure performance and guide decision-making; champion the use of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and design standardisation to improve efficiency.
* Strategic Alignment: Apply commercial awareness of business models, margins, and customer value to engineering delivery; ensure day-to-day operations are aligned with broader business and client strategy.
