LOCUM RELIEF STAFF NURSE
Corrann West Region – Athlone/Roscommon Adult Services (Athlone, Kilteevan, Roscommon Town). Staff allocation may be within residential, respite, day settings, community services or an individual's home. The appointee will initially work in one area of the Athlone/Roscommon Adult Services and the work location may change due to future service needs.
Qualifications & Experience
A current Live Register Certificate from the NMBI (An Bord Altranais), RNID, or RGN qualification is essential.
A full clean manual driving licence is essential; assistance will be given towards obtaining a Class D1 licence if necessary.
Experience working with people with intellectual disability, autism, or complex needs is desirable; induction and training will be provided.
Fluency in verbal and written English and proficiency in IT skills are essential.
Skills
Leadership and networking skills – staff will be expected to network with local community groups and develop positive links for service users.
Good organisational and planning skills, with the ability to support goal setting and follow through to achieve outcomes.
Creativity, initiative, self‑motivation, flexibility, and good judgement.
Commitment to current best practice internationally and cooperation in an interdisciplinary team environment with a person‑centred philosophy.
Excellent listening skills, patience, and a sense of humour.
Working Hours
All posts are based on a 14‑day duty roster. The successful candidate will be required to work days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers and night duty to meet service needs.
Tenure
A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent permanent, temporary or fixed‑term Staff Nurse appointments within the Athlone/Roscommon Service location may be offered over the next 6 to 12 months.
