The Opportunity
We're looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Accountant & Accounts Assistant to join our friendly team. If you're motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to gain real, hands-on experience across all areas of accounting and finance, this role is for you.
You'll work alongside qualified accountants who will guide and mentor you as you progress toward your professional qualifications. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn the ropes in a supportive environment where your contribution really makes a difference.
What You'll Be Doing
* Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
* Supporting bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and day-to-day finance functions
* Assisting with VAT returns, payroll processing, and financial reporting
* Working closely with clients to collect information and resolve queries
* Supporting senior accountants with accounts and tax assignments
* Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
* Enthusiasm to learn and study toward a professional qualification
* A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved
Desirable:
* Some experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance
* Familiarity with software such as Xero, Bright books, or Bright pay
* Currently studying (or planning to study)
