Reporting to the Project Director, the role of Construction Manager, Mechanical is to manage a team of engineers in the execution of the project scope, ensuring the works are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The Construction Manager will play a key role in developing construction execution plans, schedules, and subcontract work scopes necessary for project delivery.
Typical responsibilities include:
1. Managing health and safety matters on-site, ensuring implementation of the company's safety procedures.
2. Overseeing work activities to maintain safety, health, and welfare of all personnel affected by the project.
3. Ensuring completion of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, SPA’s, and client permits for all tasks.
4. Planning all aspects of work from initiation through execution and closure, including materials, subcontract work packages, and craft requirements.
5. Managing the site supervision team, including engineers and craft supervisors.
6. Collaborating with schedulers, engineers, and foremen to develop constructability reports and schedules.
7. Establishing subcontractor work scope execution plans, including tendering, awarding, and controlling costs, schedule, quality, and safety.
8. Coordinating with workshops on prefabrication planning and documentation.
9. Generating weekly/monthly progress reports for clients and stakeholders.
10. Working with Quantity Surveyors on cost management, including pricing variations and negotiations.
11. Participating in internal and client meetings to ensure project success.
12. Controlling work hours and adapting to site change requests.
13. Inspecting works for safety, technical, and design compliance.
14. Coordinating with QA/QC to ensure standards and specifications are met.
15. Overseeing the assembly of handover packages to clients.
16. Performing additional tasks as assigned by the Project Manager or Project Director.
