The successful candidate will be an essential part of the chemistry team, testing pharmaceutical drug substances and raw materials in accordance with corporate procedures and in compliance with current GMP standards.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out testing of drug substances in accordance with valid testing procedures and regulatory requirements.
2. Ensure laboratory equipment is well maintained, and calibrations are carried out at the designated frequencies.
3. Review results generated by other analysts for compliance with requirements.
4. Ensure that all target dates are met. Communicate status of testing at Tier 1 Unit meetings.
5. Keep laboratories to a high housekeeping standard.
6. Carry out method transfers and participate in the validation of analytical test methods as required.
7. Write and maintain necessary documentation (test protocols, SOPs, instrumentation manuals and checkout sheets, method transfer reports) according to existing SOPs and cGMP standards.
8. Lead laboratory investigations and deviations if required.
9. Assess testing results generated in the laboratory and close out batch analysis.
10. Uphold a safe working environment, in a state of audit readiness.
11. Maintain own knowledge of cGMPs and relevant analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, UV, PSD, XRPD, wet chemistry, dissolution, etc.).
12. Identify and implement safety, environmental, quality and service improvements.
13. Work with your leader to ensure continuous self-development and progression.
14. Adopt safe behaviour by exercising due regard for health and safety of yourself, colleagues, and clients, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.
15. Ensure full compliance with the Company’s Code of Integrity, and act in accordance with SGS Ireland’s Equality & Diversity Policy.
Qualifications
* Science Graduate in Chemistry or equivalent education with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a GMP environment.
* Experience with analytical technologies and demonstrated troubleshooting skills (HPLC, GC, UV, PSD, XRPD, wet chemistry, dissolution, etc.).
