 
        
        Commercial Category Manager
Join Applegreen as a Commercial Category Manager in a rapid growth phase. In this role you will develop strategies that drive sales, enhance product offerings, and maintain strong relationships with our brand partners and customers. You will be part of the M&S Commercial team and report to the Head of M&S.
Key Responsibilities
 * Collaborate with the Director of Coffee on commercial strategy to maximise opportunities as new M&S stores open.
 * Work with Operations teams to maximise sales and overall operational profitability.
 * Use data insights to support operations, improving product range, trade levels and availability for a better customer experience on site.
 * Manage relationships with brand partners (M&S, TGTG, Olio) and explore opportunities for home-delivery.
 * Plan and coordinate store openings, ensuring a smooth process across departments.
 * Represent Applegreen at conferences and public events to build brand awareness.
 * Identify future opportunities for the M&S brand within Applegreen and prepare business cases and tender applications.
 * Maintain margins and work with supply teams to minimise waste while ensuring product availability.
 * Develop internal business cases for further M&S brand opportunities.
 * Conduct competitor pricing analysis and benchmarking.
 * Support budgeting, forecasting and cross‑functional decision making.
 * Report weekly on sales performance, trends and product portfolio analysis.
 * Lead range reviews and implement effective planograms in collaboration with internal departments and M&S business.
 * Participate in strategic improvement programmes and projects as required.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
 * 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role.
 * Strong commercial acumen.
 * Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills.
 * High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
 * Experience in a high‑volume retail environment is preferred.
 * Passion for hospitality and a customer‑centric approach.
 * Ability to manage multiple relationships, duties and priorities.
 * Clean, full drivers’ licence.
 * SAP experience preferred.

 * Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
 * Strong communication skills to train and guide staff.
 * Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
 * Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting and financial management.
 * Strong focus on customer satisfaction and quality service.

 * Problem‑solving skills to quickly implement effective solutions.
 * Adaptability to a fast‑paced environment and changing priorities.
 * Willingness to travel ad hoc if required.
