As Fresh Food Advisor & Food Trainer, you will support fresh food departments across the estate by embedding best‑practice operational standards and delivering high‑quality training. You will play a key role in ensuring fresh food counters consistently deliver an excellent customer experience while operating efficiently and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
Review, define and implement efficient operational frameworks across new and existing fresh food counters
Embed consistent, repeatable standards that deliver a high-quality customer experience
Challenge and refine proposed operational standards, collaborating cross‑functionally to identify practical solutions
Update, replace and standardise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Provide hands‑on operational and training support to stores where required
Support fresh food trials, capturing learnings and ensuring best practice is embedded prior to wider rollout
Review post‑launch operational plans and optimise before wider implementation
Work closely with Regional Managers and HR stakeholders to understand store priorities and training needs
Build strong relationships and influence without direct authority
Collaborate cross‑functionally to align operational, people and training requirements
The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience working within fresh food departments (produce, meat, bakery, deli or similar)
Strong understanding of fresh food standards, quality, safety and availability
Knowledge of merchandising, stock rotation, waste control and presentation
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in retail, ideally within fresh food
Minimum 3 years’ experience leading or managing others
Food preparation or foodservice experience an advantage
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Full driving licence
