Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-sufficient Accounts Technican or part qualified accountant on a short-term contract basis to support the preparation of financials and documentation for budget & business plans. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel and accounting skills, with a preference for experience using Sage. You must be able to work independently, deliver accurate outputs with direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing the financial components of business plans, including:
* Cash flow forecasts
* Profit & loss projections
* Budget breakdowns
* Work with historical financial data to create projections and analysis
* Build and refine Excel models for different business scenarios
* Extract and manipulate data from accounting systems (preferably Sage)
* Collaborate with Financial Controller to gather inputs where needed
* Ensure accuracy and clarity of all financial elements in the plans
Requirements:
* Proven experience in accounting, finance, or business planning support
* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
* Formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling
* Experience with Sage (Sage 50 or similar) preferred
* Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Good communication skills and business acumen
Nice to Have:
* Familiarity with financial reporting templates
