About The Role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* The safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all plant equipment.
* Support efficient operations by monitoring equipment, controlling traffic and inspecting for abnormal operations.
* Required to operate and inspect equipment, record data, report accidents, equipment damage, malfunctions or trends which indicate possible trouble.
* Perform actions as directed to correct abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations.
* Perform PM maintenance tasks and assist with equipment repairs.
* Operate on a picking line.
* Sweep and clean the floor, roadways and paved areas of the site.
* Perform painting, cleanup work and various other housekeeping duties.
* Support the maintenance or operating groups as necessary.
* This position may require working overtime, and incidental or prolonged hours, resulting from unusual operating conditions or major overhauls.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Follow all company procedures and safety policies.
* Other duties may be required as instructed by management.
Qualifications
* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
* Leaving Certificate or similar.
* Previous experience in the operation of front-end loaders and other mobile equipment.
* Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools. Formal technical or apprentice training is desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language, Mathematical and Reasoning Skills
Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals. Ability to speak and communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Certificates, Licences and Other Abilities
CSCS card for Loader/Forklift/MEWP would be advantageous.
Ability to take appropriate safe action on his/her own initiative to prevent equipment damage or injury to personnel during emergencies or unusual situations.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment, high places and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to working within confined spaces, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment varies.
