This role will focus on the delivery and oversight of mechanical design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects, reviewing mechanical system designs, and supporting the development of the mechanical engineering team. The role also involves engagement with clients and contractors, providing technical guidance, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with quality standards and design requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and review mechanical building services systems across a range of projectsProvide design direction and technical guidance to mechanical engineers within the teamCarry out peer reviews of mechanical designs and specificationsSupport the development of the mechanical team's technical capabilityLead engineering projects and represent the company in client and technical meetingsProvide client oversight of contractor works, including installation and commissioning activitiesPrepare and deliver presentations to clients on emerging technologies and engineering solutionsEnsure quality systems and project standards are maintained across all projectsSupport business development activities, including identifying opportunities and assisting with project bids and interviewsIdeal Candidate ProfileBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, or a related disciplineChartered Engineer status with relevant professional accreditationsMinimum 7 years' experience in mechanical building services design, with additional experience considered beneficialKnowledge of mechanical design principles, standards, and industry codes, including BCO guidanceExperience reviewing commissioning processes and overseeing mechanical installations by contractorsUnderstanding of a wide range of mechanical building systems and their applicationsFamiliarity with the full design lifecycle from concept design through to construction administrationGood understanding of related engineering disciplines such as electrical, public health, and fire protectionStrong communication skills and experience working with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teamsProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsProblem-solving ability and a proactive approach to technical challenges
