Job Title: Catering Supervisor Location: Blackpool, Cork Reports To: Catering Manager Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, occasional evenings or weekends) Job Purpose: To lead and supervise the catering team to deliver high-quality, nutritious, and safe food services to students, staff, and visitors, while maintaining high standards of hygiene, customer service, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities: Supervise the day-to-day operations of the catering service. Plan menus in line with nutritional guidelines, dietary needs, and budget constraints. Oversee food preparation, presentation, and portion control. Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen regulations. Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory effectively. Lead, train, and motivate catering staff, managing rotas and delegating tasks. Liaise with school or centre staff to coordinate special events or themed menus. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and dining areas. Handle customer feedback and resolve any service issues promptly. Monitor and report on budget performance and cost control measures. Person Specification: Essential: Previous experience in a supervisory catering role. Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above). Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of food safety legislation and allergen management. Good numeracy and IT skills (for ordering, rotas, reporting etc.).
