Deputy Manager Job Description

This role involves taking on a key leadership position within our retail team, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining operational efficiency.

* Main Responsibilities:
* Lead and motivate your team to achieve outstanding customer service and high operational standards.
* Represent the company values and ethos, promoting a positive and inclusive working environment.
* Manage daily shop operations, ensuring efficient workflows, task assignments, and adherence to procedures.
* Assist in implementing business strategies by managing stock levels, overseeing performance, and analyzing data to meet targets.
* Maintain full compliance with health and safety regulations and relevant policies.
* Monitor and assess individual and team performance, providing feedback, coaching, and training for growth and improvement.
* Plan and coordinate staff rosters for optimal operational efficiency.
* Foster strong communication with team members and senior management to create a supportive workplace atmosphere.


Requirements and Qualifications

* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role, leading teams of 10 or more people in a retail or customer-facing environment.
* Proven leadership skills with confidence in guiding and inspiring others to perform at their best.
* Strong commercial awareness with a successful background in driving performance and operational improvements.
* Experience in staff rota planning, task delegation, and general team management.
* Exceptional team-building abilities and a commitment to delivering a superior customer experience through teamwork and individual excellence.
* Capable of making sound, independent decisions in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure.
* Familiarity with reading, understanding, and creating planograms to support merchandising and stock placement.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
