Our client, a leader in the Pharmaceutical Industry is seeking a Scientist (PDS&T Bioassay) to join their team in their Westport Facility.
Job Summary:
Independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner. Demonstrate experimental precision and strong data interpretation skills and should possess understanding of core discipline.
Responsibilities:
* Completely follow established experimental protocols and assess results with supervision.
* Recognise and report experimental variances.
* Learn and effectively implement new experimental protocols and/or techniques.
* Maintain laboratory equipment and optimise laboratory operations for efficient use of time and laboratory supplies and reagents, when appropriate.
* Perform routine tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results.
* Analyse and critique results, noting significant deviations.
* Learn and understand new experimental techniques.
* Demonstrate technical proficiency in his/her field. Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques and appropriately modify protocols, as required.
* Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.Impact projects mostly through lab-based activities.
* Apply basic scientific principles to research.
* Prepare buffers and solutions required for testing
* Enter laboratory results on sample management systems
* Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 6-12 months experience or Master’s Degree or equivalent education.
* Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.
* GMP Experience
* Experience in procurement and/or shipping and/or sample management
* Ability to work independently
* Bioassay/Cell culture/ELISA experience
