We are hiring a General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team in Kill, Co.Kildare.
Our GL Accountant is an integral part of the Finance Shared Services team, delivering accounting services in line with business expectations. The individual must be a strong team player with good accounting knowledge, demonstrating flexibility in supporting the GL team deadlines.
Your mission
Provide support and maintain integrity on all ledgers, specifically GL, across the UK&I Division. Partner with staff, primarily in commercial and finance, to build capability.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Reconciliation of all control accounts, journals, and tasks aligned to the integrity of month-end close.
2. Oversee processes for the timely submission of direct tax submissions (VAT, RCT, PAYE) and lease accounting administration.
3. Prepare, review, and communicate GL balance sheet reconciliations to the business.
4. Process journals ensuring requests have appropriate approval and backup.
5. Manage lease administration and accounting.
6. Manage the intercompany process.
7. Prepare VAT returns and coordinate overall VAT activities.
8. Handle project and contract administration.
9. Address audit queries.
Who are we looking for?
- GL experience within the construction industry (desirable).
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems, DRC, RCT, VAT, and intermediate Excel skills.
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant.
- Experience in a finance accounting role.
- Attention to detail for accurate data entry and ledger checking.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels. Target-driven and accustomed to managing strict SLAs.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to identify and resolve errors.
- Strong professional communication skills.
- Enthusiastic team player who takes pride in their work.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and motivate others to do the same.
- Decisiveness and appropriate escalation when needed.
- First-class written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of BAM values.
