Job Overview
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for training on various processes and techniques, including predictive maintenance, CMMS (Pemac), reliability techniques for fuel oil, industrial gas distribution, turbines, boilers, compressors, diesel generators, pumps.
Main duties include:
* Coordinating daily work with shift technicians, particularly during morning shift changeover
* Serving as the primary contact for service providers
* Troubleshooting and high-level investigation of utility plant equipment faults and failures - root cause analysis
* Compliance/quality engineering - recording and investigation of deviations on utility plant and equipment
* Performing planned preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance as required
* Ensuring PMs are completed on time
Additional responsibilities include:
* Liaising with site planners to identify spare part requirements;
* Reviewing the maintenance program periodically to ensure optimal uptime levels are achieved
* Supporting and complying with all safety procedures
Required skills for this role:
* Analytical mindset
* Experience with six sigma/lean preferred
* 10 years of craft qualifications in a mechanical discipline
* Past working experience ideally gained in energy conversion and distribution
