The Staten Island YMCA Counseling Service is seeking full-time and part-time Counselors. Under the supervision of the Site Director, Counselors will manage a caseload, providing individual, group, and family sessions, and coordinating specialized services and case management. Availability to work on Saturdays is required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct screenings, assessments, and treatment planning.
2. Facilitate various therapy sessions and crisis interventions.
3. Manage case census, retention, family support, fee collection, and outreach.
4. Coordinate care, including reporting, referrals, and collaboration with professionals.
5. Provide in-home and community-based services as needed.
6. Ensure compliance with contracts, regulations, and documentation standards.
7. Serve as Manager-On-Duty or alternate clinician when necessary.
8. Supervise interns/volunteers as appropriate.
9. Guide staff in the absence of a supervisor.
10. Manage emergency cell phones on a rotating basis.
11. Participate in team meetings, supervision, and training.
12. Maintain certifications for EBPs and clinical practices.
13. Disinfect surfaces before and after sessions, logging each task.
Desired Skills & Experience:
1. Meet OASAS requirements for Provisional QHP Status; CASAC, CASAC Level 2, or QHP preferred.
2. Qualifications: MHC, MSW, MFT, MHC-LP, MSW-LP, MFT-LP, LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW.
3. Minimum two years of treatment experience.
4. Knowledge of the criminal justice system, treatment courts, and TASC.
5. Knowledge of the 12-step model, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
6. Availability to work on Saturdays, weekdays, and weeknights as needed.
