We are partnering with a rapidly growing, tech-forward organization in the healthcare data sector to hire an experienced Field Services Technician to support their international headquarters in Galway, Ireland.
This is a hybrid role (3 days onsite) and serves as a technical lead within the IT Field Services team. The ideal candidate will provide hands‑on support, mentor junior technicians, and ensure seamless operation of hardware, software, and network infrastructure across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
* Serve as a lead for IT Field Services Technicians, providing daily support, guidance, and training.
* Coordinate installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of computers, peripherals, and network devices across various sites.
* Develop, document, and improve SOPs for IT infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
* Collaborate with IT leadership and cross‑functional teams to support broader strategic initiatives.
* Maintain and track IT asset inventory, ensuring accuracy in hardware and software documentation.
* Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex hardware, software, and networking issues.
* Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to maximize uptime.
* Support IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
* Act as a primary point of contact for vendors and external service providers.
* Identify opportunities to optimize processes and enhance service delivery.
* Log incidents and problem tickets in ServiceNow and maintain clear communication on ticket status.
* Work with other technical teams to resolve cross‑functional technical issues.
* Deliver exceptional customer service and follow ITIL best practices.
* Maintain organized server rooms and technical workspaces.
* Respond promptly to network, server, and application outages.
Requirements
* High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
* 4+ years of relevant IT Field Services experience.
* Preferred certifications: ITIL (v3 or v4), CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
* Experience with PowerShell scripting and basic automation.
* Familiarity with ServiceNow and ITSM processes.
* Strong knowledge of desktop hardware, Windows/Mac OS, and common productivity applications.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Ability to lead, mentor, and work collaboratively with a team.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
* Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure with attention to detail.
