We're seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker to join our team in County Longford, where youll play a vital role in the lives of children and young people in care.
Key Responsibilities: Prioritise the wellbeing, safety, and development of young people in a supportive and empowering environment.
Implement and adhere to relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring best practices in care delivery.
Promote a trauma-informed, person-centred approach in all interactions.
Support young people in building life skills, education, social relationships, and community involvement.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting in line with regulatory standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, educators, healthcare providers, and families.
Participate in care planning, reviews, and advocacy on behalf of the young person.
Respond appropriately to challenging behaviours using approved interventions and de-escalation techniques.
Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Requirements: A relevant qualification in Social Care or equivalent (minimum Level 7).
Experience working with children or young people in a residential or community setting is advantageous.
Knowledge of Children First, HIQA standards, and other relevant legislation and frameworks.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, resilience, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
Full clean drivers licence desirable.
CORU registration desirable or willingness to register.
