Key job responsibilities
* Are controls subject matter experts (SMEs) with knowledge of building operations, electrical generation and distribution equipment (generators, UPS, etc.), mechanical plant and strategies (AHUs, chillers, etc.), BMS/EPMS programming concepts, control diagrams, industrial HVAC, electrical line-ups, one-line diagrams, and complex environmental and electrical concepts.
* Create, maintain, and disseminate project-specific scope of work (SOW) documents, specifications, and engineering drawings, as well as global design standards.
* Operate in high-security critical environments while maximizing productivity.
* Innovate to develop new solutions supporting team and company goals.
* Interpret and develop mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.
* Serve as a technical SME for mechanical and electrical controls standards, coordinating with internal and external groups.
* Manage requests for information on new construction, existing site support, and legacy site projects.
* Ensure systems are deployed and commissioned per documented standards.
* Strive for frugality through budgetary review and approval, with a strong customer focus.
* Anticipate roadblocks and risks, providing escalation management.
* Work autonomously to resolve challenges quickly.
* Manage external consultants’ performance to ensure quality delivery.
* Review vendor bid packages and make recommendations.
* Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Interact with AWS cloud services and applications to analyze data.
* Travel domestically and internationally (~25%) to manage projects.
A day in the life
As part of the EMEA controls design team, you will lead electrical and mechanical controls design for critical infrastructure projects, including HV substations and data centers. You will develop new processes, standards, and test innovations in controls, utilizing Amazon leadership principles.

Basic Qualifications
* Good understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, industrial HVAC.
* Leadership experience in IT technology and MEP/ACS design environments.
* Experience managing large-scale enterprise data center projects.
* Fundamental understanding of Data Center IT Infrastructure.
* BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
* Experience with building management systems (Schneider, Siemens, Tridium, Trend).
* Experience with electrical power monitoring systems (Schneider, Eaton).
* Knowledge of Data Center Facilities Infrastructure (PDU, UPS, Generators).
* Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
