About the Role
The position is a Veterinary Surgeon – Mixed Practice within a progressive mixed practice in County Louth. This role requires an even split between small and large animal work, offering variety, continuity of care, and a supportive rural‑community practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver a 40‑hour week (Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm) with approximately 50% small animal and 50% large animal caseload including consultations, surgery, farm visits, TB testing, and medical work‑ups.
Share out‑of‑hours service on a 1-in-4 weekend rota, with bank holidays and time‑off in lieu shared across the team.
Maintain an up‑to‑date digital radiography, ultrasound, dental suite, and in‑house IDEXX laboratory equipment for both small and large animals.
Participate in a supportive team culture, mentoring, and clinical discussion.
Drive to farm calls and out‑of‑hours duties requiring a full, clean driving licence.
Qualifications & Experience
Registered with VCI (or eligible) and able to work across small and large animal caseloads.
Experience in mixed practice is an advantage but not essential; training and support will be provided for junior clinicians.
Approachable, team‑focused, and dedicated to good medicine.
