The Opportunity
This position is responsible for driving branch performance through strong commercial leadership, excellent customer service, and effective day-to-day operational management. The successful candidate will oversee sales activity, warehouse operations, administration, and team performance to ensure the branch consistently achieves both financial and operational objectives.
Main Responsibilities
Create and maintain a results-driven sales environment focused on growth, accountability, and customer engagement.
Deliver branch sales, profitability, and margin targets in line with business objectives.
Identify and implement local business development opportunities to expand market presence and grow regional revenue.
Use CRM platforms and reporting tools to monitor opportunities, sales activity, and overall branch performance.
Support and develop internal sales and trade counter teams to maximise individual and team success.
Develop strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders to encourage long-term business growth and customer retention.
Ensure a consistently high standard of customer service through responsiveness, product availability, and efficient issue resolution.
Manage customer concerns professionally and effectively to maintain strong client confidence and satisfaction.
Branch & Operational Management
Oversee the daily running of the branch, coordinating activities across sales, warehouse, logistics, and administration functions.
Ensure efficient stock control, inventory management, and order fulfilment processes are maintained.
Track branch performance against operational and financial KPIs, implementing improvements where necessary.
Manage operational costs and resources to support profitability and efficiency.
Lead and motivate employees, promoting a positive and high-performing working environment.
Establish clear performance expectations and encourage accountability across the team.
Support employee development, engagement, and succession planning initiatives.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Promote a strong culture of health, safety, and wellbeing throughout the branch.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, and relevant legislation.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and operational safety across all areas of the branch.
Candidate Profile
Experience
Proven success in achieving sales targets and commercial objectives.
Experience managing a branch, department, or business function within an industrial, technical, or trade-related environment.
Background in the electrical sector would be beneficial, though candidates from wider B2B industrial sectors will also be considered.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and CRM platforms.
Good commercial awareness and understanding of industry trends.
Ability to manage budgets, performance targets, and branch profitability.
