M&E Senior Cost Manager – Mission Critical Team within Construction Advisory?
Location: Dublin, as part of our hybrid working model.
Grade: Manager
Contract type: Perm
Our Senior M&E Cost Managers are responsible for promoting and marketing KPMG Construction Advisory and representing our services at a senior level within both the industry and the firm.
They manage the day-to-day operations of their projects alongside their teams, with support from their supervising Director and other senior practice personnel.
A snapshot of your peer group:
Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, or relevant M&E discipline
Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution
Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors: Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Residential, with a particular focus on M&E works
Understanding of RIAI and FIDIC standard forms of contract
Experience preparing bid submissions
Prior line-management experience or mentoring
Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on procurement, cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation
Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills

Here is what you can initially expect:
Lead and deliver all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying for Mechanical & Electrical works from project inception to completion.
Work with an Associate or Director to manage and deliver multiple projects, typically ranging in value from €1m - €50m+.
Drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process.
Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients, enhancing the profile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry.
Manage and mentor junior staff to deliver our Cost Management service for M&E efficiently and effectively.
Duties Include:
Feasibility estimates for M&E elements
Procurement advice specific to Mechanical & Electrical packages
Ensuring deliverables are produced to high standards and issued on time
Cost planning and cash-flow forecasting, including M&E disciplines
Value and risk management for M&E works
Post contract management
Supporting and developing team members
Supporting senior staff in improving project efficiency and task accuracy
Client engagement and relationship management
