TEMPORARY OPPORTUNITY — Senior Administrator
Location: Carlow
Contract Duration: 4 Months (Temporary Agency Assignment)
Hourly Rate: €28.83

We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation in the agricultural sector for an experienced Senior Administrator to join their team on a 4-month temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional with strong administrative skills and experience managing high-volume financial transactions and complex programme coordination.
Main Duties
Serve as the main administrative point of contact for the Programme, liaising with scholars, supervisors, higher education institutions (HEIs), and internal stakeholders.
Oversee all data management using SmartSimple, including scholar onboarding, routine updates, and process tracking.
Lead the annual call for proposals, coordinating communications with reviewers, supporting supervisors, and preparing documentation for assessment panels.
Drive continuous improvement of SmartSimple functionality to enhance system efficiency and user experience.
Manage scholar requests related to extensions, terminations, programme changes, and leave.
Ensure accurate data collection upon scholarship completion in collaboration with supervisors.
Provide support and guidance to the programme team, including line management responsibilities for junior administrative staff.
Financial & Budgetary Oversight
Administer monthly stipend and fee payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Assist with annual budget preparation, track budget performance, and contribute to variance analysis.
Coordinate the annual scholar progress reporting cycle and compile comprehensive reports for senior leadership.
Offer direct support to scholars on financial processes, programme requirements, and administrative queries.
Process Development & Policy
Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and recommend changes to boost operational efficiency.
Create and maintain up-to-date programme documentation, including policies and training resources.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of programme events such as inductions and development workshops.
General Duties
Uphold the organisation’s Quality Customer Service Charter and maintain high professional standards.
Comply with all health and safety guidelines and help foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
Support strategic planning initiatives, performance evaluations, and other duties as required by the wider team.
The Person
Ideal Candidate:
Level 8 degree in business or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
P roven experience in administration with budgetary and programme oversight.
Proficiency in MS Office, and ideally, SmartSimple or similar grant systems.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Other Requirements
Full driving licence (role may require travel to other offices).
