Job Description:
As a Battery System Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of Li-ion battery systems per performance and safety requirements. Your responsibilities will include driving battery development from NPI through mass production, researching and evaluating emerging battery technologies, collaborating with product teams to define battery specifications, designing battery protection circuit and pack design for NPI programs, developing and reviewing battery pack schematics, BOMs, and layout to meet design requirements, conducting system and design reviews, failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), and risk assessments, analyzing and resolving battery-related issues in production and field, performing battery safety assessment and design for safety, supporting battery certification processes, managing and coordinating with CMs (contract manufacturers) on battery development for NPI programs, and building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent
* Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
* 5+ years of experience with battery technology development
* Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
* Experience in managing CM resources on NPI programs and building relationship with CM
