Pyxera Global (www.PyxeraGlobal.org), an NGO with offices around the world, will be managing a Global Pro Bono program in Galway, Ireland scheduled to take place in September 2026. Pyxera Global would like to hire a part-time local project coordinator currently residing in Galway to provide project management and logistical support to the selected team of high-level corporate volunteers who will provide pro bono consulting services to local healthcare organizations. Pyxera Global may consider working with the selected candidate for up to 3 years, if and when programs take place that align with qualifications.
The selected local project coordinator’s main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following.
Project Development & Implementation
Help to develop Scope of Works (SOWs) reflecting specific intervention areas requested by the local host organization.
Assist local host clients in preparing for corporate volunteers and ensuring stakeholder meetings are arranged.
Participate in conference calls with corporate volunteers to ensure alignment and clarity of project goals before their arrival in Galway.
Provide support and guidance to corporate volunteers throughout the delivery of SOWs.
Act as the on-the-ground interface between Pyxera Global and partners in Galway, including regular correspondence with Pyxera Global staff and other stakeholders to ensure satisfaction on the part of the corporate volunteers and partners.
Assist in the coordination of culturally diverse meal planning and the organization of local cultural events for the duration of the one-week in-person gathering, enhancing the cultural exchange and enriching the overall experience for corporate volunteers and local stakeholders.
Support the Project Manager in the coordination of orientation, kick-off, and closing events.
Provide 7 days (one-week) project management support to the Program Manager while on site.
Participate in meetings with corporate volunteers as needed to address project progress and challenges.
Support the Project Manager and Boston Scientific Local team with logistics and preparation related to the Kick-off & Closing Event, ensuring stakeholders satisfaction during the program period in-country (September 21 -25).
Coordinate with the Project Manager and Logistics Coordinator as needed beyond the support described above.
Prepare financial and final project statements to document project outcomes.
Logistics
Procure accommodations and transportation for corporate volunteers in Galway.
Coordinate kick-off and closing events for corporate volunteers and host clients.
Develop Galway-related guides and suggestions to facilitate project execution.
Orient new corporate volunteers upon their arrival in Galway.
Manage project travel logistics and act as a resource for corporate volunteers throughout their stay.
Monitor and advise on security arrangements to ensure the safety of corporate volunteers.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Must be based in Galway with extensive area familiarity.
Background of community engagement, health systems, communications, project management, organizational development, NGO management, or related field.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience.
Experience working with cross-cultural teams and/or skills-based volunteer programs.
Strong multi-tasking abilities and proficiency in managing diverse tasks simultaneously.
Flexibility to work both independently and collaboratively with limited supervision.
Exceptional writing skills and the ability to develop SOWs with minimal guidance.
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in delivering virtual and in-person presentations.
Salary
This is a part-time consultant position with an estimate timeline of 3 - 4 months with June 2026 start date. Pay is based on experience and the type of work required for this position.
