Principal Java Engineer

You’ll help shape architecture, influence engineering direction, and deliver scalable products using modern full-stack technologies across cloud, APIs, distributed systems, and rich web experiences. This role suits an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, driving innovation, mentoring teams, and building high-quality software in a fast-paced agile environment.
What You’ll Work On
Building modern cloud-native financial platforms and digital products
Designing scalable microservices and API-driven architectures
Delivering responsive front-end experiences using modern web frameworks
Driving automation, CI/CD, testing, and engineering excellence
Collaborating with globally distributed technology and product teams
Leading technical design, architecture decisions, and platform evolution
Exploring AI-assisted development workflows and engineering productivity tooling

What We’re Looking For
8+ years of software engineering experience across Java technologies
Strong expertise building enterprise-grade applications with Java and some experience in Angular is nice to have
Experience designing scalable cloud-first solutions in AWS
Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and modern application architecture
Experience with containerisation and cloud deployments
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers
Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Passion for clean code, automation, innovation, and continuous improvement
Interest in modern developer tooling, AI-assisted engineering, and platform acceleration
