The primary focus of this role is to provide care and support through a person-centred approach, meeting the practical, physical and emotional needs of service users with an Intellectual Disability/ABI/Autism.
Key responsibilities include assisting individuals with disabilities in residential, training and day service activities, aiming to achieve their highest level of functioning and promote independence. This position forms part of the on-floor duty team and requires collaboration as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) in service delivery.
This role involves coordination of shift duties and supervision of other staff under direction. In the absence of the Person In-Charge, the Senior Social Care Worker may be required to deputise and assume management responsibilities.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* A qualification at Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications in Social Care, Social Work, Youth Work, Teaching, Nursing, Childcare with Disability modules or relevant discipline/qualification.
* At least 2 years' experience working in a residential, respite or day service setting with people with an intellectual disability, enabling the discharge of full range of duties, functions, responsibilities and activities required of the role.
* CORU registration or currently obtaining CORU registration.
