About Your New Role
As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll take ownership of mechanical design delivery across multiple building services projects.
You will lead design stages from initial concepts through detailed design, specification, coordination, and client interactions.
Typical work involves HVAC design, LPHW/CHW systems, domestic services, and energy-efficient building strategies.
You will collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical compliance and smooth project delivery.
The role also provides the opportunity to guide junior engineers, contribute to project planning, and support the development of best-practice design methodologies within the team.
Residential and/or commercial project experience is essential, as these will form a large portion of your workload.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (Level 8+ preferred)
6–10+ years' experience in building services mechanical design
Proven experience delivering
residential or commercial
projects from concept to completion
Strong ability to design HVAC, ventilation, domestic water systems, and sustainable mechanical solutions
Proficiency with mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools
Solid understanding of Irish Building Regulations, CIBSE standards, and relevant industry guidelines
Experience attending design team meetings and interacting directly with clients
Ability to lead projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers
