Senior Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer (Azure Local & Hyper-V)OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and support a large-scale, multi-site infrastructure environment serving approximately 50,000 users.This is a senior hands-on engineering role focused on core infrastructure, virtualisation, and hyper-converged platforms, with a strong emphasis on integrating on-premise environments with Azure.You will play a key role in both building new infrastructure solutions and supporting a complex existing estate, working across compute, storage, networking, and hybrid cloud technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and deploy complex infrastructure solutions across multi-site environmentsBuild and maintain hyper-converged platforms using Azure Local / Storage Spaces DirectWork closely with network, security, and application teams on integrated solutionsDeploy and manage Hyper-V virtualisation environmentsConfigure and optimise virtual machine performance and resource allocationSupport large-scale compute environments across multiple locationsIntegrate on-premise infrastructure with Azure using Azure Arc and related servicesSupport hybrid cloud architectures bridging local and cloud environmentsContribute to modernisation of legacy infrastructure into hybrid modelsInfrastructure Management & AutomationManage infrastructure using Azure Arc, Windows Admin Center (WAC), and System Center VMMImprove operational efficiency through tooling and scriptingWindows Server & Core ServicesDeploy, support, and troubleshoot Windows Server environmentsBackup, Recovery & ResilienceDesign and manage backup and recovery solutions (e.g. Veeam)Ensure resilience and disaster recovery capabilities across infrastructureSupport existing infrastructure alongside new deploymentsIdentify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and reliabilityRequired ExperienceHands-on experience with Hyper-V and virtualisation technologiesExperience with hyper-converged infrastructure (Azure Local / S2D)Experience integrating on-prem infrastructure with Azure (Azure Arc, hybrid models)Experience with infrastructure automation using PowerShellNice to HaveSoftware Defined Networking (SDN) experienceVDI environments (including GPU-enabled workloads)Exposure to Linux environments (Ubuntu)Experience with local AI / on-prem LLM workloadsExperience in large-scale, multi-site environmentsWhat You'll Be DoingDesigning and deploying new infrastructure platformsSupporting and evolving an existing enterprise estateDriving hybrid cloud integration across environmentsWorking on large-scale infrastructure serving 50,000+ users
