Job Title: Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Clinical Nurse Manager - North Dublin
TTM Healthcare Solutions in partnership with a healthcare group of premium quality nursing homes, are currently recruiting for a full-time Clinical Nurse Manager IPC for their Transitional Care Units based in North Dublin.
Responsibilities:
* Support the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing in the day-to-day management of the home.
* Act as a member of the team, including the Multidisciplinary Care Team, the Risk Management Team, the Incident Management Team, and the Infection Control Team, as deemed required by the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing.
* Stay up-to-date with recent trends and developments in the field by reading widely.
* Maintain resident confidentiality throughout the facility. Resident information shall not be discussed outside of the home, except within a professional capacity and in the interest of the resident, with the expressed permission of the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing.
* Motivate team members by agreeing on goals and objectives through performance review.
* Be responsible for the management of care staff and dealing with human resource issues appropriately.
* Create and promote open communications, healthy working relationships, and stimulate initiative among the team.
* Ensure delegation is appropriate to the definitions and philosophies of nursing. Delegation should take into account the levels of experience, competence, role, and scope of practice of the staff member taking on the delegated task.
* Work towards a restraint-free environment, implementing practices in accordance with the National Policy.
* Consider disciplinary and grievance matters procedures in accordance with deviations from the staff member's job description, the residential home's operational policies and procedures, any code of conduct expected of staff members, and other professional codes of practice.
* Ensure staff rights, including working hours, and responsibilities are complied with according to best practice and legislation.
* Ensure staff receive training in, are familiar with, and implement all policies and procedures.
* Ensure staff have up-to-date knowledge and skills appropriate to their role to respond to and manage behaviour that is challenging.
* Ensure all staff receive appropriate training in relation to safeguarding residents, whistleblowing, and the prevention, detection, and response to abuse.
* Attend and chair meetings as required and keep staff briefed on developments in the facility.
* Implement and manage identified service and care changes via the facilities Change Management process.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date statistics of the service provided by the client.
Qualifications:
* Nursing Qualification
* Ongoing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
Desirable Qualifications:
* Postgraduate in Gerontology
* Previous experience in Care of the Elderly
